Roadside Tire Changing Parts

Its me again with another question.
Im going on a long trip this weekend (first one in the car) was checking over the car. And when I got to the spare, I cant find the lug wrench! My car doesnt have the owners manual and the haynes (I hate Haynes, but Auto Zone didnt have a Chiltons) doesnt tell me anything!
Where is it stored? or is mine missing? Any help would be great! Thanks!
Here the list of what I found just in case im missing something else.
Blow up spare
Jack
Jack Crank
Compressor (it works)
Thanks again

Re: Roadside Tire Changing Parts

There's a rollup canvas bag w/ the tool kit. It's in there along with a spark plug wrench, screwdrivers, some other stuff.

Do you have wheel locks? Know where the key is?

Alot of 944s don't still have the tool kit. You could get a breaker bar and 19mm socket, or just bring a regular ratchet with 19mm socket and a piece of metal conduit to use as a cheater bar.

Something else of note.... With the alloy lugnuts, proper torque is pretty important. For an emergency and driving at low speed you should be able to get to where you need, but when you have the tire put back on, lug nut torque should be 94 foot pounds. 8) You also need a way to inflate your space saver spare. If the original air compressor is missing from your car, you may want to pick one up. Not too expensive and they plug into your cigarette lighter. If you want to replace it with a factory comp. from Porsche you are looking at about 100 bucks or more, you can find them on Ebay.

Cheers,
Micah

Re: Roadside Tire Changing Parts

Hey thanks alot everybody.
to "83-944" Ive got the wheel locks but no key! Is it kept in the car some where. Or do I just not have one. It looks like they might be rotted out anyway (they are hollow in the middle with nothing for a round key like the set of wheel locks i had on my truck).

To "ledhedsymbols" .ya I have the comp. works great. I was supprised to find it when i bought the car (i cared more about how it ran than what came with it) so i didnt find it until the afternoon i got it.

I went on the trip sat. with my g/f. Orlando to St. Augustine & back in one day. The car ran perfect. And drank just over half a tank. Played around alittle on I-95 on the way back with a benz Kompressor, (it was late at night) and I have to say for being an N/A. It keep up with the benz, at around 125 and didnt even feel near stressed.
Thanks again for all the help and as usual I'll probably need more.
P.S. I hope to put pictures up before long
