I was never a big fan on Universal Mufflers. If they were made for the Z it would be different and more affective. And I really don't like the tip on that thing. But the CF look is nice.

Dude those are the same damn mufflers my friend has on his Rice Rocket Civic... He has a custom dual exhaust system put on (nice welding work)... And thats his only performance mod... The rest of his 12g's was spent on rims, body kit, paint, headlights, neons, and taillights... Actually it was his dads money, so he couldnt care either way.

I hate that shit. The sound of those open "mufflers" on civics sounds SO BAD. I've heard a couple around town recently that made me want to chase them down in my 86T, that has NO muffler but sounds GOOD, and shove a bannana in their tail pipe...anything to gag that damned muffler...blargh...
This is why I'm so...umm...nervous when it comes to picking an exhaust for my Z. I'm super paranoid about it sounding like shit. I think it sounds fine now...that's why I'm thinking about just getting a 3" straight pipe from the turbo back...no cat...no muffler...no nothing. Ultimate flow (maybe even too much...???). Plus, Kenfucky just did away with the emissions check bullshit, so I don't have to have a cat anymore...yaaaaaaaaay.

yes, you don't want too much free-flow. you need some back pressure. almost all exhause systems for 300zx's sound awesome.
oh yeah, here is my story of a guy that has the most annoying sound ever. it is a ford focus svt and he thinks he is hot shit. he just got a big banner that says svt focus on his windshield. everybody makes fun of him, even the women do.
