quick quesiton??

ok guy's quick quesiton, their is this guy who lives down the road from me and he has an 80's ish conquestion in ok condition like it drives ya know and he said he'd sell it to me for 900 dollars. i was woundering if i should get it and make a project car out of it, and if it is a good car to begin to drift on? (i'am new to driffting)

Well, the Chrysler Conquest/Mitsubishi Starion pair are two very good drift machines. Mitsubishi designed the car from the outset to have natural oversteer exiting a corner (as opposed to the mule-ish understeer of its contemporary, the S13) and that turbo four makes not only good peak power but also gobs of torque.

However, don't expect a huge aftermarket for the car. They weren't very popular and remain a cult car. You can build them into phenomeonal machines, but it'll cost you.

98gtstang, to answer your question the best drift car for a newb like yourself would be a RWD car.Why you ask, mainly because it takes more technique to control a FWD during a "drift" once you get really good at it.I would highly rec. a Rear wheel drive vehicle for the time being if you wish to get into drifting.Any RWD would be good like a starion(those RWD?)

my uncle has a starion, not sure of the year, maybe an 86? honestly I don't even know what years they made them, its 80 something though :P but its an amazing car, looks so pretty, and he says it gets up rather nicely and runs through the gears pretty quick, if you have a chance to get a cheap one I would recommend it, they are pretty rare, so parts are expensive but they are available. anyways just wanted to say they are sweet and good luck if you get it, I'm sure you'll love it

thanks guys yea i'am going 2 talk to the guy to day i saw it today and their was a little bit of front end damage that it didn't have the other day so i'am not sure if hes crashed since i've looked at it or what

yea they resemble the second gens a bit, they are gorgeous... oh and the front bumpers are like 400 bucks if its needing replace, just incase you care.

And if you guys think that was confusing, wait until I really get into it and start commenting on roll centers, travel arcs, and other ways of determining favorable suspension geometry.
