its an honest question. do the letters "WRX" stand for anything?

Subaru says "World Rally X" with the x being nothing or anything, like a variable in algebra.

i always assumed it stood for World Rally Cross too, the X being the cross cause it crosses! but im not positive. What about RS? any one know what that one stands for? Rally Sport maybe?!

my first gues for WRX was world rally then i happen to come by the X and im like.... uuuuh.... i know the WR1 is saying "were #1 in world rally" since the car is a tribute to their championship.
