Guitar Pickups

Ok im poor and fixing to buy a ESP-LTD EC-50 and i know the stock pickups arent going to get it. So what im asking is, which passives are going to give me the most bottom end? Its an all out metal guitar, so im not too concerned about my mids, although i do need "some" highs. Because i will be soloing quite often. Thats where i run into trouble. I need loads of Bass, and fairly crisp highs.

Do not tell me Seymour Duncan Distortions. I cant stand those pups. Anything else thats really really edgy????????? No EMGs either...

Re: Guitar Pickups

I'm not a huge fan of the ESP-LTD Series. I like the original ESP series though, and I'm quite fond of Kirk Hammett's Signature series.

I've played with many pickups, and I think the EMG series shits all over the Duncan hummers.

But they are expensive.
I have 3 EMG's, an 81 in my bridge, SA in the middle (Single Coil) and an 89-R in the bridge. Perfect set up.

The Dime series are pretty good as well.

Re: Guitar Pickups

Ok dimebags, i havent looked at those. As far as Duncans, the Distortions are the only ones i really dont like. I hate Floyd Rose trems . I hate trems period. I want a les paul styled body, and ibanez....ughhhhhhh. I cant deal with that right now. And i really dont want to have to worry about Active pups. But ill have to check into the Dimebags, sounds promising

Re: Guitar Pickups

Im actually gonna get that Ec50 for a guitar class im taking this fall. I just want a really cheap one thats decent. I used to have a... ah damn.. cant remember the name... but it was the ltd version of the viper... so it was like viper-300 or something... but yeah it had EMGs in it, and ill probably put those in the EC50 eventually... or I could just get the EC300... the other way is probably cheaper tho....

you should get some dimarzio evolutions. i had the 7 string version on my washburn WG587V when I still had it... they are awesome pickups
