CAM position sensor

Hi guys!

Can anyone tell me where the cam position sensor is on my 97 dodge stratus 2.4. dohc? A picture would be great! Thanks!

The cam position sensor is located on the right (driver's) side of the cylinder head. There is a wire loom directly on top of it, but if you move it aside, you'll see a wire plug attached to a round plastic plate. This is the Cam Pos. Sens.

You'll have to remove the air ductingto get the sensor out. Open the air filter housing. loosen the hose clamp that holds the housing to the intake.

Carefully fish the plastic air plenum out from beside the engine. Remove rear part the rubber hose that's directly on top of the sensor, and move it out of the way.

Unplug the connector and take out the 2 bolts holding the sensor in. A 10mm socket or wrench fits these bolts perfect.

These things are pretty cheap, I just bought one from an on-line dealer for $7.00.

I take it you have the dreaded CPS oil leak?

As it turns out, I have a little more trouble than I thought. The timing belt slipped and the cams locked down so I have a little job to do now but thanks for the info.
