Eclipse Turbo Progress thread

I bought the Amt FNF eclipse yesterday, despite all that bull $hit ive heard about it.

WHen i bought it i bought some Black N Blue pearl paint by Boyds to put on it, not knowing that i would be going to walmart later that day, when i did go to walmart i found some Krylon paint, thats Cherry Red, i decided id try to paint the eclipse that color. When i painted it, the paint was way too flat, so when it dried i put on that Black N BLue pearl, and now its just ugly as the pics show

THe only thing that i see wrong with this model is the engine, so in short im gonna make it a True turbocharged Eclipse and make the engine look like one that would have originally been N/A but had a turbo kit bought for it

ANd im shaving the doors, and filling in the place where the license plate would be

heres the pics

pics are a bit blurry, sorry im not gonna take an hour to try to get the light rite for taking a few pics of a car thats all blistered up and an engine that isnt any thing special right now

Comments and suggestions please

should have sanded and primed before you applied the midnigh blue, and if that is a metallic paint appluy silver underneith to bring out the metalic flake. l

i sanded it, i think the sand papers just a bit too gritty, so im gonna have to wait till i have more money to go get some more sand paper

never heard of putting a coat of silver on a car before putting on a paint with a pearl, ill be investigating this even further

thanks

Re: Eclipse Turbo Progress thread

The underlying silver brings out the metallic flakes/ pearl flakes.

Re: Eclipse Turbo Progress thread

Looks good. Although, the kits engine is trash. It's not like the 4g63... but you're doing a good job to represent the neon turbo motor.

Good luck...btw, all you needed was some clear on the krylon and it would've looked great.

Re: Eclipse Turbo Progress thread

Boyds/ModelMasters/Testors is so sad, such nice colors, but such terrible paint...

p.s. 86_sr5 is right, all the krylon needed was some clearcoat, polish, and love...
