f-body v6 vs. all

in response to many others who say the 3.8L camaro and firebird are HIGH 15 second cars.. take a look at the timeslip page of the most widely used camaro/firebird v6 site.. you will see it's the other way around. Keep in mind. MOST of these people are stock and quite a few have hit high 14s with just the y87 package

http://timeslips.firebirdv6.com/

i agree with the 3.4s are dogs. But the 3.8s are RESPECTABLE.. that's all me and camaroinical are seeking, respectablility btw.. we are 2 different members of the aformentioned site take a look at the directory. Out of the 155 naturally aspirated postings only 9 are in the 16s.. and my money along with everyone elses is that they aren't very good drivers, or it's their first time.. 15 are 15.8-15.9, 22 are 15.6-15.7, 15 are 15.4-15.5, 28 are 15.2-15.3, 17 are 15.0-15.1, 27 are 14.8-14.9,
10 are 14.5-14.7, 7 are 14.2-14.4, and 7 more are 14 and under. Plus, these are only NATURALLY ASPIRATED. . It's very obvious that there are more naturally aspirated v6ers under 15.5 then over it. We have guys in the 12s and 11s with power adders and recently our guys at FFF have had a group purchase for an intercooled turbo kit for 2500! Many of those guys are still receiving parts, but preliminary results have shown over 300 at the wheels. . And with light power adders.. our cars FLY seriously. at 7 psi on Force Fed Fabrications Turbo Kit we've seen high 12s and low 13s with supporting mods. And 7psi is relatively light boost and the 3.8L Block is pretty strong with the auto trannies being relatively strong

All I'm saying is this.. based on being a camaro fan for sometime reading about v6s all the time along with working on them. GENERALLY stock 3.8L non-y87 editions are mid to high 15s while y87 v6ers are low to mid 15s *the difference is 3.42s and some other goodies from SLP.

All we v6ers ask is for respectability, we like the looks of our cars, but can't afford the beef of our 350 brethren. We do not pose, but instead like the challenge of building our 3.8s and no matter what any of you say a 15 sec. quarter mile is respectable.

PS I know other v6ers are faster and I don't dog on anyone's ride, it's just not cool to make fun of ones pride and joy.. v6 or not pushrod or not.. BTW, there are many supporting arguments saying that pushrod technology is equally efficient as DOHC with all those valves. The liter per engine may be smaller in the DOHC and be able to put out the same horsepower EXp. 3.0L DOHC 200hp, 3.8L OHV 200hp. But they take up the same space, the efficency the pushrod lacks it makes up in space compared to the DOHC.. just a little something to chew on

Did I just not closed the "Camaro V6 vs. Anything" thread? what makes you think that another thread titled "f-body v6 vs. all" is any better?

As stated in the other thread I closed, inflamatory threads will not be tolerated.

This is car comparisons and not "I've got something to prove" or "I want to compare my car to anything". What do you whant to compare a V6 camaro to an F1 Mclaren? Fine. It sucks compared to the F1. Happy?
