The Type-R in Japan is a little different, having higher compression, bumping the hp up to 220, instead of the 200 the Type-S has. The Integra Type-R is essentially a step up from the RSX-S, kinda like the GSR and Type-R. But the RSX-S is the top of the line RSX in the US, whereas the Integra Type-R is the top of the line Integra in Japan.

No, there's no Type-R in the US. The RSX-S is the highest model here, and it has 20 less hp than the Integra Type-R of Japan.

Why does it matter. It would cost way more, and if you really care about that 20 extra horse power there is probably SOMETHING you could do to get it. You know, like fancy spark plugs...

Re: Is Acura RSX Type S a Honda Integra Type R???

No...the RSX Type R/ Honda Integra Type R will not pass emission in the U.S. It's easy enough to boost the hp on the Type S, anyway. I know of several completed Type S to Type R conversions here in the States, though. One just sold on ebay a few months ago. Personally, I think it's a waste of time and money...

Re: Is Acura RSX Type S a Honda Integra Type R???

I believe TSRyder6 was wondering if the Type R will ever be sold in america, not if it can be imported. If it was sold here, then it would hardly be a waste of money!

type r

I'm not sure about the engines but there is the a-spec package for the type s that makes the car identical cosmetically to the japanese type r

I know what he was asking. The conversion cost isn't worth the money. Of course the car would be worth the money.
