WTF Engine light and blinking
ok, this morning i got in my car a stated it up. I started to drive then saw the ugly bright yellow/orange check engine light. I thought that was weird but then i saw the D4 on my dash was blinking. Not just a couple times but for over 2 minutes. So i pulled over to the side of the road and turned off my car and started it. It worked fine and has for the rest of the day. What does this mean? I have a '93 accord no mods except an air intake. Also a massive draw off of the car power because of a audio system. Please, someone give me an idea.(or a website)

how much miles u got on ur car? Most likely ur sounds or the intake isn't setting off the light.

The check engine light can come on for a variety of reasons, some of which have no negative effect(technically) on your cars performance or ability to drive. You should take it to your local Autozone, and have them pull the codes from the ECU(a free service they provide) then return here and tell us which numbered codes you got.

I read in my 92 accord manual that when the D4 light flashes it is an indicator of something going on in the transmission and that you should have the transmission checked.... Don't know if thats whats going on with yours or not

the engine light can be read by bridging the lead under the passenger side dash near the door. Put a paper clip into the unplugged lead (connect both sides), and turn the ignition on. Read the number and duration of blinks that the engine light flashes. This is much easier if you have a haynes manual on your car. I have one, but not with me now or I would give you the exact procedure as well as what each code means. As for the d4 light,,,,,I have no clue, but i think kbray's explanation is plausible.
