TL 2004 Ticking/Clicking Dash

I have had my TL for 1 month. So far great machine.

Today I noticed some intermittent ticking/clicking from the front centre to right side of my dash. At first I though that I had blown a speaker, but the sound would occur when I turned the stereo off. It seemed to occur at higher (highway) speeds more frequently that low speeds.

I've got plenty of warranty time left so I am certain I can have it addressed, but I'd love to hear if anyone else had this problem and what the correction was and what to tell the dealer.

I have the same problem. Sort of a rattling sound somewhere in the dash area only at highway speeds. I can't pinpoint the location. It comes and goes for no obvious reason.

I have a little more insight at this point. It has been a come and go problem.

On another bulletin board ("Edmunds") I was advised that similar problems were fixed by:

a-resetting the catch for the glove box.
b-adding some thin foam rubber lining at the front of the sunroof to keep the air deflector from vibrating while the sunroof was closed.

I don't think its the glove box in my case because it has occured when I had the glove compartment open.

No magic bullet yet. I plan to give it some time and try to figure out exactly where the noise is coming from before going to the dealer.

I found a couple of over possible solutions.

One person noted that the noises were reduced when the head rest was elevated off of the lowest point to the first notch

Also, my wife seems to think she noticed the noise coming from the sun visor clip.
