CV Joint on a '88

Got a question I was hoping someone could answer. I have an 88 with large offset 32's. Lately there have been this large clunking noise coming from the front suspension of the car everytime I slow down to around 15 mph. You can't hear it unless I brake down to this speed or just cruise.

A neighbor of mine said it might be a bad CV joint. Just wondering if any of you might have any idea. I just had the brakes redone 6 months ago and then had them rechecked again. Thanks

Re: CV Joint on a '88

CV Joints don't normally make noise when traveling straight, only when turning.
In order for you CV Joints to make noise, the hubs need to be engaged.
Do you have manual hubs or automatic?
If you have automatic hubs, the internal clutches might be failing. If you replace them, I recommend some good Warn manual hubs. Automatice hubs have been know to fail at some of the worst times.
Check and see if you CV Boots are torn.
