Hey there, I have recently started having problems with my escort. I got gas at a mom and pop gas station on my way home from work. The very next day my car started puttering. i mean you start it and it goes Putt putt putt. I ran it until that tank was empty and then put some dry gas in it . THinking that maybe moisture or even water. But it hasnt stopped and its been a few days. I know it needs a tune up it has for a while. Could this be part of the problem? any ideas. Im young and not very knowledgable in the automotive field. I dont want to take this to a garage and have someone take advantage of my ignorance. Thanks for the help guys

Re: 93 Escort question
Sounds like you may have a clogged fuel filter. They are relatively easy to change. Sometimes if the fuel is bad or if it has a lot of dirt in it the filter will clog and cause your car to do just what you are saying. Change the filter and if that doesn't correct the problem you may need to change the plugs as well. They are easy to change just do it with the engine cold. Let me know if this helps. P.S. Go buy a Chiltons or other shop manual and it will help you with these minor problems.
