Re: Rear Hatch does not stay open
do you need to replace the hinges or just the support struts? the struts are hydraulic and are what opens / holds open the rear hatch... replacements can be had at Checker or AutoZone (i had to replace the ones on my 96 JGC a year ago after the hatch wouldn't stay open any more)... btw, it help to have a friend hold the hatch up while you bolt the new struts in (the hatch is surprisingly heavy!)...

Re: Rear Hatch does not stay open
unbolt the top brackets, then you should be able to twist the strut off from the ball joint at the bottom of the strut (pops off) - i think i remember a clip there that i popped off first... no you don't have to remove any panels... oh, an instructions also come with the lift itself...
