Swappin it
Okie here is the dilly yo
I want to do a engine swap for my '92 HB with a GS-R engine 1. do i need it to be a specific yr (the engine) 2. would i loose anything by doing this (ex. power steering) thanks for da help

The 92-95 civic will accomodate most any Honda engine with out major surgery. I am sure that any GS-R engine will fit without modification (minor if any...mounts).

The B18c1 will bolt right in, there are only a few modifications. IF you are looking for the b18c1, get it from 94-95. YOur car has OBD I as does the b18c1 from 94-95. If you get an engine from later years, you will have to convert your OBD I to OBD II. THis is a big hassle and is not worth it.

Well I'm pretty sure all B18C1's from 1994-2000 are OBD2 but as for "converting" to OBD2, you don't need to do shit. OBD consists of engine sensors that monitor it's performance. If you're getting a new engine with all the sensors and the ECU of this engine, What exactly do you need to change? Other than adding a 2nd O2 sensor after your cat or changing the ECU to ignore it.

well u didnt state your location but in order for it to be legal in cali u must get an engine newer that your car.
