Where did you find a carbon fiber driveshaft? I can only recall one place, but I know there are more.

There's a website I found online with a lot of performance parts but I can't remember the name of the site at the moment. It's saved on my computer at home, but I won't be home until tomorrow night. I'll post the site then.

what? carbon driveshafts are lighter AND stronger than both steel and aluminum driveshafts. I could afford an aluminum one now, the one i need to save for is the Carbon, they go for about $700.

Yes - carbon fiber is better than aluminum or steel. But what the hell do you need a carbon fiber driveshaft for??? You can get an aluminum capable of holding 1000+hp for less than a carbon driveshaft. Aluminum is plenty for anything street legal.

Amen brother. Why spend an extra 500 dollars or more saving very little weight on a driveshaft. Use that money to put something worthwile on the car.

When I saw them, I didn't think it was that much more. And it helps reduce weight and driveline losses.

Why would you say something like this? I don't understand your logic.

I agree with Cobra01TT. I think an aluminum drive shaft is just fine on a street car, carbon fibers are a little lighter but its not worth the extra money you'll spend to get one.

To answer your question rerun, steel is heavy as hell when compared to an aluminum one so therefore it costs you HP. One top of that at high speed steel drive shafts can cause vibration. And vibration while your going down the track at 104 mph aint a fun thing.

thanks for the tip, if the advantage of carbon is negligible ill go with aluminum. i misunderstood how you meant "save your money"...i thought you meant save up your money. anyway, i've been sick and away from the computer for a couple of days, so i haven't been able to get this out. the website i found with carbon driveshafts is
