where to find the engine series

I need some advice on where to go to find what engine is in my Prelude?I know where to look on the motor but it's gone. This is an older car it has a 1829cm2 CID 112 and the engine ID is C84D.This whole car was made in Japan. I just want to find outwhat engine series it is;the ownership says it's a 89 but they didn't put these motors in that year;they went to 2000cc. Hope some one has an idea where I can get this info... ( got this info off the stickers under the hood )

so you're saying the previous owner did an engine swap on your prelude or is this the original engine that came with it?

can you post a picture of the motor?

I can't post one right now . i know there's been work done on it cause the block, starter and a rear break that i looked at are painted blue. From what i know the guy that owned it wanted to keep it original. i aquired the car for some one else. it has dual carbs and the trani # is GM3639977 the engine # should be to the right of it on the block unless its somwe where else on Preludes thanks Dave

if it's 1829cc, then it's gotta be

83-84 1829 cc ET1 Prelude. Twin carburetors, non CVCC.3/4 rocker shaft. Head casting # PC7X. N/A

83 1829 cc ES1 Prelude. Twin carburetors, CVCC, jet Valves Head

casting # PC6C, CB $255
84-85 1829 cc ES2 Accord. Single carburetors, CVCC, CB.

Thanks for the info The serial # for the head is PC7C. If you know what car that was on.they made the dual carb SOHC 12 Valve 1829 cc till 1987. Then in 89 & 90 went to 1955 cc dual 12 v Thanks again I'd just like to know that engine series......

Re: where to find the engine series

Engine code should be ES for that engine. The only other motors from the Japanese Preludes of that time (82-91) were the ES 1.8 and old B20As, carbed or fuel injected.

Thanks but the point is the engine # isn't on the motor.

Re: where to find the engine series

I know for a fact that the B20A's have it, I saw one today. The ES should also, maybe it's under some schmegma.
