yukon 2nd row footwell passenger side wet

I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL. The carpet right behind the front passenger seat has been getting real wet, sometimes when it is not raining. Anybody have any ideas.

Could be a couple of things: Condensation from the rear air conditioning vents, water from the hose from the windshield washer pump (front to rear.) Check your washer fluid reservoir.

Thanks Denalio. Are you talking about the rear windshield washer reservoir, because I do not have rear windshield wipers. What would cause the condensation to start like that and would it show up anywhere else but the carpet?

Scratch the washer fluid since you don't have a rear washer. If you have rear air, it may be condensation or a leak. Moisture could be dripping down a pillar and collecting on the floor.

I had the same problem with my 99 Suburban. There was a missing elbow of some sort for the a/c drain. It was still under warranty and the dealer installed the missing piece AND all new carpet. Good luck. If you need more info on the part, I can look it up in my records and get the exact name for it.

I suspect transamgal and denalio34ceo are right on. The a/c vent work is run through the passenger-side 'B' pillar.

On a side note, if you haven't looked already, you'll notice that the passenger rear quarter window is actually smaller than the left one.

Take care,
Jerry

www.alldata.com...you can view the one-line summary of the TSBs; you have to subscribe (AKA pay) in order to view the details of each TSB.
