hesitation at low speed acceleration

Im having a slight hesitation when traveling about 15-30 mph and attempt to accelerate slightly after either holding steady. also seem to notice it when accelerating lightly after a complete stop or traffic light. does not seem to be a misfire but actually feels like the transmission is not clear on exactly what it wants to do. someone said it may be the transmission position sensor, however no codes / engine light ????

Any ideas where to look ?
