Re: Help stereo problem

I hope this isn't too dumb a response, but have you used the code feature before? In other words, are you sure you are doing it correctly? I almost always have to check the owners manual for that particular car to remind me how to do it. On the other hand...I am kinda brain dead having been an installer for 23 years. I have too many different cars and stuff floating in my head. I also try to not lose my customers radio settings...I have a 9 volt battery I can use to retain power even if I have to remove the deck. Works on most, but my wonderful advise is too late in this case.
Good Luck!
HTH,
Luke

Re: Re: Help stereo problem

Luke,

Thank you very much for your reply. The 9 volt battery trick is brillant, however it's too bad I did not think of that before disconecting the battery. I will, however, remember that in the furure. As for entering the security code, I do have the original code that came with the vehicle, and have read and reread the owners manual. Yet for some reason, the stereo just will not accept the code. If you have any insight into this mystery, I would be extremely gratful -- it has been a real drag driving without music. Once again, thank you.

Schad

Re: Help stereo problem

Hi Schad.
AFAIK, the protocol in your owners manual is your only shot. Any chance the radio has been swapped? Contact the dealer is my recommendation. A sympathetic service writer should be willing to help.
Good Luck!
Luke
