Big Block

My engine went out in my 79 Mino and i was wanting to just do a Big Block swap and was wondering what all i needed to do. I had a 355 in there and am looking to go for a 454. I have a 700 R4 Tranny in there now and was wondering if that would work, or do i need a new tranny too. Thanks in advance.

OK, I don't know why you are taking it upon yourself to post in everyone of John's 6 month old threads, but please don't bring old threads back to life.

Re: Big Block

OK OK, The 454 should bolt right in, you may have to move the motor mounts, depending on what has been done before, but if so it is super easy with a cut off wheel and a welder. Other than that the trans should be ok as well, with adjustments to the shift linkage and throttle linkage.
