Need Advice on 95 Firebird

Ok so I'm pretty new at this and have a couple questions. I'm looking into purchasing this 95 red convertable v6 firebird. It's an automatic since I'm still working on learning to drive a manual. (which i know is sad) The used car dealership is selling it for $5999 with leather, abs, all automatic, an after market alarm, alloys plus someother stuff. After test driving it with my fiance we decided it's a good car especially for the price. Is there any hidden problems that I should look into before purchasing it?

I'd appreciate ANY advice

Nope, well some of them have electrical gremlins but that's about it really. Personally, I think that price is a little on the high side when you could get a Ram Air Trans Am for that price unless this convertable has extremely low miles.

Re: Need Advice on 95 Firebird

I have a 95 with T-tops, and without the leather. I got mine for 5k after taxes. But I suggest you go to kbb.com and nada.org and check out the pricing. As for problems, the only one I have had was the window, drivers side, needed realigned. So if you call that a problem then you've got nothing to worry about. But each car is different.

Re: Need Advice on 95 Firebird

You wanna talk about problems I have a 96 firebird had only 50 grand when i started 2 years ago granted it sat for a while It started with the water pump going out, then transmission default solenid, twice within 10,000 miles of each other, not to mention the computer need to be updated, then a new set of plug wires because the old ones melted, new shocks to stop the squicking inside the car. My current problems i am fighting with are the buttons on the steering wheel need to be replaces the volumn knob doesnt work like it is supposed to the radio antenna is making a noise when it gets to the top like grinding gears and the shifter for the transmission got worn and had to be replaced but as for the car it runs like a bat outta hell and when i use the cruise i have seen it get as good as 32 miles a gallon and when i am in the city i average about 20-26 The problems i have are simple to fix just take some time. They are right about the price think about what it will be worth next year it will only go for about 3,000 if you lucky they drop quick in value so make sure you want to keep it for the long haul.

oh yeah my car has 135,000 miles now and doesnt burn any oil but leaks a little and i had to get a new drive shaft because the CV joint went out in the center and the mechanic said it would be cheaper to buy a new one
