Mono Amp with 4 ohm Subs
I got my MTX Thunder1501D amp today and hooked it up in my car to my 2 15" MTX Thunder 8000s. On the amp, the speaker output terminals show:
|Speaker 1|Speaker2| | + | - | + | - | I hooked the subs up to their own "Speaker" area, and since this is a mono amp Im assuming its the right and only way to do it. Im used to 2 channels...but since this is a 1000x1 at 2 ohms RMS amp...and my subs are 4 ohms...can I bridge both the subs across the Speaker 1's Positive and the Speaker 2's Negative? Its fu*king loud, thats for sure, but I was wondering if this is safe and would make it even louder without any annoying sounds, malfunctions, etc. |

Re: Mono Amp with 4 ohm Subs
if it is mono and it has 2 pairs of outputs, just put your subs one on each output

Re: Mono Amp with 4 ohm Subs
How would I run the 1100 RMS to only one sub...if I wanted to? Or isnt that possible without DVC?
