Re: performance help

front mount intercooler will take all your funds alone... boost controller and exhaust are good starts

he will blow the engine without fuel management.

ur gonna drift, those japanese do it with 115 hp corollas, you can do it with a 200hp rx7

get some suspension stuff before anything else, or work on the reliability of the engine before working on its performance. its a trackcar, it will be abused.

Re: performance help

he wont blow the engine on stock fuel equipment with intake and exhaust and a boostcontroller man, now if he upgraded the turbo or ported it or anything big like that then he would.

you need to stop trying to prove everyone wrong when you don't know

^^ word

its not like i said crank it up to 20 psi. his engine would be fine with the mods i listed. and he said drift car, but not limited to that. if hes going to make it a dedicated drift car then $1500 doesnt even begin to cover what he will need for suspension and tires.

Re: performance help

after 9 to 10 psi I believe the stock turbo is out of it's efficient working range anyways.

Re: performance help

some guy on nopistons.com or teamfc3s had his stock s5 turbo pushing 14 psi.
must have been producing more heat than power, but the turbo can handle this boost.

Re: performance help

you can turn it up to 12 if you wanna run the 1/4 mile a few times, but I'd agree that 9-10 should be for any other time

Re: performance help

yeah the turbo can handle 14 psi but not very well. I can't imagine that turbo living a very full lifespan.
