patching exhaust hole without welding
hey, I was wondering..how would I patch a hole in my exhaust with out welding..what im getting 2 is....i want to gut my cat on my monte carlo..but i am in no way a welder. I would like to gut it with the cat still on the car..is there anyway to patch up a hole in the cat..after im done gutting it? THANKS...by the way..no exhaust shop will take a cat off or gut it around here.

the only info i can say is, i patched a hole in the exhaust pipe from the muffler to the motor with stuff called "muffler mender" .. which is a compound/apoxy stuff and it worked fine.. Im not sure how big of a hole you are talking about, or even if you want to use that, just figured i would throw that out

how big of a hole did u have?...any other ideas guys..i was planning on drilling into the cat...and going at the inside as much as i could...and i need a way to patch up the hole!

not real big, the clamp/hanger broke off, and took part of the pipe with it.. so about the size of a quarter/half dollar.
