Upgrade 2.3 to 5.0

Its cheaper to buy a 5.0 mustang, than to drop in a 5.0 engine into a car that is set for a 2.3 but I am wondering, if I were to go that route would I need to upgrade the transmission to handle the increase in power? Iam going to get a rebuilt 302 H.O. mustang engine, rather than buy a new car with an older engine. Anything else i may be missing other than wiring and cooling..?
