Replacing Front Cup Holder on E39s

Does anybody have any experience with this procedure? I recently purchased a 97 528i and need to replace the front cup holder. I already replaced the one in the rear, but any having problems getting the front one out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

two screws hold it in. you can see them with the cupholder open or broken as the case may be.

The Stock cup holders are not sturdy and will just break again. A falling drink can damage other electronic components of the car. I found a solution in this product: www.e39cupholder.com

step one get a regular sized phillips screw driver. yank on both cup holders hard breaking them off. there are two screws in the center and two screws on each side. then stomp curse and throw the old ones as far as you can. next get these.

install in less then 5 minutes. You will never regret it. Once i did this i am sooooo soooo glad. I changed my cup holders twice with the original types. they are junk.
