Re: Revs Kinda Weird???

It seems that when it's hot out, the cars idle will be anywhere between 1400-2200 rpm.

Does anyone know what causes this??? I know that when I pop the hood and press the trottle back it goes to normal rpms until I rev the car up again.

Help me please. This really pisses me off!

Thanks

It could be alot of things. Check the cable first, that's easy, if it's too bad just to put some grease on, then a new one from honda is only like 15 bucks, i've bought like 2 of them from the dealership locally But they only ship on thursdays here and they'll charge you 15 bucks for next day shipment so you gotta make sure you tell them you just want to wait till thursday.

Also i had this problem when i got my DX crx that had been sitting for 2 years, there were three vacum lines that came together in a T shaped fitting to the passenger side of the throttle body, turns out one of them was cracked and would cause the motor to idle at 2,000. I'm sure you can get the hose somewhere but i just happened to have some that fit. It's really small. Like 1/4" outside diameter or less.

just some possibilities...

ok so i had two civic hatchbacks, i totaled one because i wasn't paying attention, the other one i got ran into a creek by an old lady asleep at the wheel, then i got a CRX was being retarded hit a deer at 90 and flipped, so now i drive a 1992 celica GT and i love it, done with being stupid, this one will not be wrecked.

Re: Re: Revs Kinda Weird???

the easiest thing to do is gut a buddy to sit inside and then push the throttle to the floor and then off again (without the engine running) then you can see if the throttle cable is sticking and not returning back to its proper idle position, just a thought
