Engine Swap-Let me know if re-post
I've looked at the engine swap threads, and all I saw was 1.8's and 1.9's. I was wondering, what would be a cheap, fairly simple, engine swap that could be done with a 3rd gen (2.0L SPI) that could get me more power? More interested in low end torque than I am in overall horsepower. Or would it be better to just keep the 2.0L SPI? Thanks guys!

Re: Engine Swap-Let me know if re-post
The Zetec would be the next easyest, but you'll need at least the Zx2 PCM and harness depending on the year of your 3rd gen. But the Zetec has pretty much the same ft lbs of tourq as your SPI.
Turboing the SPI might be a better bang for the buck. |

mine is a '99 LX. How much $$ am I looking for even a simple small turbo? would parts be available for it, or would some have to be modded to fit? Thanks Jeff!

Re: Engine Swap-Let me know if re-post
The turbo manifold is hard to track down. You may need some modifying if your a 5 speed. You will need to spend at least $1000. But you should beable to exstract about 200hp from a stock SPI, if you do it right.

yup, 5-speed, any suggestions where to start looking for parts? I've never touched anything with a turbo before, so I'm new to this whole thing.
