Cool My engine swap is finally getting off the ground!

I'm finally getting started on my engine swap project, on saturday this week i bought an 82 Accord as a donor car to get a transmission and head and a few other things, the next step for me is to locate a 1.8l block from the from the states (the canadian models came with a 1.6l), get the head worked on and the cam reground. i have pictures of the project so far posted here. more to come as i progress!

Re: My engine swap is finally getting off the ground!

just my luck, my engine project won't be done for another couple months and my head gasket is going now. looks like i've got to replace it this week some time. what a pain in the ass. for an engine i'm not even keeping

Re: My engine swap is finally getting off the ground!

well the head gasket is in. hmmm, lets see. get up at 6 for work, work until 3:30. drive 45 minutes home to pick up head gasket (i arranged to have it picked up while i was at work). drive 20 minutes to fiends farm to use shop. spend 4 hours removing and replacing only to discover that i forgot to put the o-ring beneath the carb so the engine wouldn't idle. spend another 45 minutes removing and replacing the carb. all said and done it makes for a 16 hour day and i only got 3 hours of sleep last night! i'm goen to bed.

Re: My engine swap is finally getting off the ground!

well this weekend lxndr and I pulled an EK1 1.8L block for me and an Integra transmission for him, it was a full afternoon of work but we both went home happy. yesterday i picked up my reground cam. still waiting for the weber carbs to arrive in the mail but things seem to be going together smoothly
