yet another question
ok i have been having trouble out of my coolin fan and ive been runnin kinda hot i took off my radiator checked all hose and flushed it very good... replaced the thermostat...got a new fan motor...tomorrow im gettin a new temp sending unit....and a new relay. what i need to know is two things: is the fan relay the thing that plugs into the fan motor if not what is it and where is it located?? and two where is the engine id on a 305 3rd gen located, could this be it 14102182?? the engine has been replace and im not sure w/ what year all i know is its a 305 tbi.
i also keep burning a fuseable link wire that works my fan w/ the ac on not sure about when its off since i cant get it to work w/out it off but i think that might just be due to the fan catching on the shroud again any other suggestions of what might be causin this thanx!!! |

the fan relay should be on the firewall, cant tell you wich one tho cause the fuel pump relay and fan relay are identicle. make sure you've gotten all the air out of the cooling system. the fan switch wont trip from hot vapors. start the engine and remove the radiator cap. give the engine slow rev's and the fluid level should keep dropping until all air is gone then add more coolant.

Re: yet another question
yea, there's a pair of relay's on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder, should be the one closest to the wheel well that's for the fan. I had problems with my fan coming on too, I replaced all the same things, the relay just kept blowing out so I just bypassed it and use a manual switch.
