HAndling on a GST

Well my girl has been scarred by the handling on her 03 Tib. She tryed to make a turn and hit a pole. And the thing is.... she was chasing a rear wheel drive car (GT STANG) that knew how to power out of the turn so he was gone. But anywayz, now she say after seeing that she never wants ff again. But then again she likes the gst but shes deathly afraid of the drivetrain (lol it's funny, you should see her in my gsx.... That little handle on the passanger side is her best friend ) So my question is, how is the handling on the ff gst?

Re: HAndling on a GST

handling also has a lot to do with your tires and suspension. my guess is her tires didn't have much traction at the time. plus any stock car suspension just aren't exactly for the use of hit and run. after all, you're just putting too much weight on that outter tire when you make a hit and run turn like that. to make it short. my gst handles great. provided that i have decent tires and suspension.

a couple weeks ago here in DFW there was a nasty storm. it was a true test of the handling in my TSi AWD. I was extremely impressed with the way she treated me and my son in the 4+ inches of rain and the 80mph winds.

The next day i was conversatin' with a fellow DSMer about the impressive handling of the AWD and he was telling me that he was really impressed with his GST. So the point of this post is that the GST and the GSX/TSi AWD are both very good handling cars and very responsive in the worst conditions

..... even with a girl driving it, it should be pretty good

Re: HAndling on a GST

i never said it was the same, i said he was impressed/suprised on how his gst handled also

which means,.. both gst and the awd are good handling cars in my opinion

obviously the awd car will respond better but the gst is good in its own right against other fwd cars

Re: HAndling on a GST

thanks alot guys.... i think she's seeing the light. I want her to get a talon AWD but then again, were kinda sceptical because Eagle doesn't make cars anymore. And she can't afford a GSX. But I tell her she'll kick my butt on the freeway

Re: HAndling on a GST

because Eagle not making theTalon anymore doesnt mean anything. every single talon and eclipse came from the same production plant... meaning its the same parts, bumper, armrest, and seatbelts.

if you will ever need a part for a 2G talon, all you have to do is get the part for the eclipse and "presto" there ya go repairs done with no hassle or the same hassle as you would get from an eclipse.

DSM = Diamond Star Motors
Diamond = mitsu emblem
Star = chrysler emblem
Motor = an engine silly

DSM was a joint venture between mitsubishi and chrysler making the Talon, Eclipse, Vr4 Galant, and the Dodge Stealth. (might have left one out, cant remember

Re: HAndling on a GST

another great part i left out that can significantly increase your handling is the strut bar. especially when you're braking that hard at a turn, it'll defiintely help with the traction. altho, if she drives like hit and run all the time, i wouldn't get her a DSM those cars require maintainance. i just found my second leakage so far since i owned the car. those fuckers need to stop leakin.

Chrysler-Jeep-Eagle...made by the same company. However, if you have parts under warranty or are intent on taking your car to the dealership for servicing, you may want to go to a Mitsu dealership. They will be much more familiar with turbo eclipses than a Chrysler dealership will be with Talon Tsis. But the fact that Eagle is no longer an official company should have NO bearing on whether or not you buy a Tsi Awd! Don't worry about it!
