whats the different between cold air intake and short ram intake? performance wise and just overall

Ram air is like putting a funnel in front of your car directly going into the engine. Does nothing at a stop, but at speed it acts like forced induction.

Cold air intake means that the engine isn't sucking in the hotter less dense air from the engine bay and pulling from a cooler source. Cold dense air is good BTW.

simply put, short ram intake takes the air from the engine bay.
cold air intake has longer piping than short ram, which extends into the front bumper, where the air is colder.

colder air is better because as you know from physics, the lower the temperature, the higher the density of the gas.
