Exhaust system
hello everyone, I was just wondering what you are all using for exhaust. The Magnaflow looks nice, but it sounds like its backfiring whenever the gas is let off (at least the clips on their site seem to be). I know some of you have magnaflow, do you notice any backfiring when you let off the gas? Thanks for all your help.

Re: Exhaust system
do you have a v8 or v6? if u want the best exhaust for v8, but it will cost you alot of money...get urself corsa. its like 700$ but listen to their sounds clips they are real nice. if u got a v6 go with magnaflow, the backfiring dimishes over time.

Loudmouth pops also. Any free flowing exhaust will do that when you let off under hard acceleration, especially when cold. It's unburnt fuel burning off in the exhaust. I personally don't mind it.

I've got the 80 series Flowmaster - sounds wicked. The Magnaflow is a great inexpensive catback system. Not half as raspy as those bloody Borla's - I hate those things!

Re: Exhaust system
I've got the 80 series Flowmaster as well, a lot of popping. I like it though.

really? mine's more rumbly than anything, and it screams in the higher RPM's. It only ever cracks/pops if you let up at like 6000 RPM - but mine's an auto so i guess it doesn't really hang up around there after you get off the throttle. I probably don't notice it as much...

Re: Exhaust system
Are there different series of magnaflow like the flowmasters 30-40 and 70-80 series if so which would be best for a v6

Re: Exhaust system
I use an 80 series flowmaster on my V8 5.0 and love it. It sounds awesome and everyone is always telling me to take my system out and just let the car rumble be the music cause it sounds good enough.

Well I installed the Loudmouth today and all I can say is WOW! It does pop some but I really don't care. When I cut off what I assumed was the completely stock exhaust I looked at the old muffler and it had Flowmaster writen on the top of it, it was an 80 series muffler hehe I thought it was kinda loud for stock. It actually poped just as much with the flowmaster on it but just not as loudly as it does with the Loudmouth.

Re: Exhaust system
Hey since we're all here talking about exhaust systems can anyone help me. I was thinking about installing a butterfly valve in my V8 GTA. This opens my exhaust to release the air out my my pipes instead of going into my muffler. http://64.4.34.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_l...mance%2ecom%2f
Does anyone have any plus or minuses to installing these? |

Re: Exhaust system
$30 to $40 huh? Is it electric or does it stay open the whole time? And if it's electric where do you find one that cheap? Cause the one on the website i posted they cost $180.
