Aluminum AMC engine.

A friend of mine has come across a 1962 Rambler 660 sedan, 32 k on it, (original) in storage for 30 years in a barn. Its very clean and straight, but the engine is seized. It has a 196 (?) cid aluminum straight six. (AMC design)
I never knew AMC made any aluminum engines. How rare is this engine?
I know that Chrysler made a quite a few aluminum six cyl engines for Valiants in the early '60's. Did AMC have the same idea?

I have one of these cars---a 1963 Classic w the alumunum 6. I can tell you these engines are very, very rare. If your friend is willing to sell parts I need an oil pump badly (it's easy to get to, it's externally mounted). Please let me know. Thanks!

It is likely the car has gone to the big scrap heap in the sky. The owner wanted it gone in Sept. and couldn't even get $200 for it.
Chances are the pump was too corroded to be useful. I'll inquire, though and let you know if its available.
