driver side window not working

My 94 740IL's driver side power window will not go up or down. All the other windows work as they should. The motor is fine because I can put 12 volts directly to the motor and make it go up or down. The switch is fine because I put in another switch and got the same results. It also makes a click sound under the rear seat when I press the switch in either direction which leads me to believe the switch is good. I put a multimeter on the plug at the motor and it is getting 9 volts in either directions. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm guessing there must be some sort of voltage regulator problem? Any suggestions are appreciated.

i have the same problem with my 92 735i. was it working fine before stopped working or was it just like mine, where i heard some clicking noise as the window went down all the way and the next thing i know is that it wouldn't come back up? if and when you find a solution, would you mind sharing it? thanks.

I did figure out what it was. All the wires in the black boot between the door and the body of the car were getting warn from years of openning and closing. Most of the wires were splitting open and one wire (to the window motor) was broken. Works great now that I re-connected it.
