Re: lifters

lifters ride on top of the camshaft and push the pushrods up to open the valves. If you needed to replace lifters it shouldnt be more than a few hundred depending on whos doing it.

Re: lifters

lifters ride on your camshaft and make the valves open and close (maybe someone else can explain this more in detail) but for all that you need pushrods and rocker arms for it all to work, well id say it wouldnt be cheep since you would have to adjust the valves and pull the top end apart except the heads, id say alteast 3 hrs of labor maybe????

Here is a new set of lifters on ebay..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...905611296&rd=1 ...... This should help you out. The lifters are located in the lifter valley underneath the intake manifold (The TPI intake system is directly above and part of the intake manifold). If you plan on doing this yourself you should buy a Chilton's manual. I would reccomend you call an engine machine shop and ask if they know a good inexpensive mechanic to replace lifters on a 91 Z28 engine, the lifter are roller lifters in your engine.
