ummmm, if we get recaros, that wont be an upgrade. that will be exactly what everyone else is getting.... I personally hope that they don't do anything to the interior. That would just mean R&D $ that would drive up prices, and more than likely add wieght to the car. the Evo interior looks fine just as it is IMHO.

It all comes down to supply and demand. I am sure there will be a shortage at first just like the WRX, the 3000GT and P/T Cruiser. Then after 1/2 a year or so, they will start shipping more over and they will be more readily available.
I was thinking about waiting it out until there is a surplus of them, so it would be easier to get one and for a cheaper price, but then I realized: JANUARY 2003 IS ENOUGH WAITING FOR ME!

I was thinking the same thing about waiting, but i'll be losing enough on depreciation; the small amount I'll lose buying from the first shipment won't be enough to dissuade me from getting my happiness as soon as possible

the seats will still be the big question (cost), but the rest of the interior should be almost identical to the current OZ Rally edition. in fact, the white-faced IP on our OZ is the same design as the Evolution, as is the "titanium" look trim on the dash. the circular silver ring around the shifter, the door panels, the center console, they should be identical. we probably won't get the automatic climate control (also cost issue) and we'll get the standard 1DIN AM/FM/CD that's in most Mitubishi cars as well. Standard AC, power windows, door locks, stuff like that will also be the same. so go sit in an OZ and you'll pretty much see the Evo.
items still under consideration (due to cost) are things like the intercooler spray, the active yaw control, tarmac/gravel/snow active center diff., the limited slip. also, the standard MOMO steeting wheel (Evo VI, Evo VII RS) vs. the "deluxe" MOMO steering wheel (with the silver insert in GSR). Brembo brakes will most likely make it over, as will the 17-inch GSR wheels. on the outside, the biggest difference will be the front end (new intercooler placement and larger bumper) along with the a longer rear bumper. Also, side marker reflectors for the front and rear bumpers. But fear not, the blistered fenders and the Rally Spoiler will make it. More info as it becomes appropriate to release. |

hey guys, i talked to someone who gave me the number for mitsubishi retail assistance and the girl was really nice and as helpful as can be. she basically verified what rice racer said about the interior but she said its coming with the recaro seats and brembo brakes. shes going to send me a brochure about the evo and she put me on some kind of mailing list. so if anyones interested, call 1-800-380-4313.
