Angry need to vent!

ok let me start by appoligising for posting this here i know this should be in stress release but only the people in street racing forums would really understand and comperhend what im saying.. mods you can move or close it but please dont..

my so called friends really pissed me off tonight we were all chilling at my boys house and we were talkin about cars so my boy with the evo8 and my boy who is soon to be getting a sti decide to start a car group. so im like what ever then they got talking about how fast their cars are gona be and how they are gona "run shit" and im thinking to my self look at these to jack asses.. the one with the sti is saying hes gona have like 500+lb of stero equipment in his car and he wants to do 10's.. and he is convinced that turbo back and intake and a "ported turbo" will give him 400whp on the stock turbo.. freaking idot..and the guy with the evo doesnt know the difference between a turbo timer and a boost contorller. damm these kids and their cars.. and i can help but to feel helpless and just sit back and listed b/c i know with all the mods that i can possibly do i still can't compete with their cars stock which sucks cause i can say shit.. have any of you ever experienced this feeling of helplessness where you know so much more and seen soo much more and yet you have no grounds to say anything.. and you are just sitting there.. and the shit that pisses me off is my boy that is getting the sti, i freaking taught this kid* all the shit he knows, i been explaining shit to him since h.s. and up to now and he has gotten so cokey that he thinks he is always right.. and on top of all of that after all the cokeyness and all the talk they say "hey you can be part of my crew too" so im like na its cool im gona be by my self and im gona show ya'll how true tuning and mods will work on a car.. and when i burn your sti and your evo8 well see who is talking smack..

so i need a better car now..evne tho i got no $ for one.. what will be good canidates for under 8'g some thing quick enought to shut up freak evo8 and sti.. i was leaning towards a DSM a 96+gsx, i spend 6g' into that car i will see mid 12's and 400hp.. but i need some thing realiable and trust worthy..

sorrie i just had to vent a little..

Re: need to vent!

get a v8. Late 80's Mustang, camaro, etc

or

one of the Grandnational gnx's [I think], heard they're good.

or

get a Supra, dont know about the price where you are. Im thinking a late 80's twin-turbo.

Re: need to vent!

ya they covered the bases
or you could get a turbo k car for 200 and then spend the rest of the 6 grand to make it a 10 second sleeper

I agree ith the V8 comment. But no way there is no way you can get a Grand National in any sort of decent shape for 6 grand.

Also, late 80's Supras were single-turbo, not twin.

Besides that, most of the options have been said. If you can, you could try to get a hold of a single turbo FC (late 80's) RX-7. The have an aftermarket, and their performance gains are amazing.

Bottom Line: Get either a V8 or some sort of turbocharged 6-cylinder....If your trying to take out an EVO and an STi for cheap, then Inline 4's may not be your friend.

Re: Re: Re: need to vent!

yea i was leaning towards a turbo 6clyd but those are expensive and not to much around.. what i really want is a 72 240sx with a twin turbo v-8 but thats not happning or even a rb25det motor in a 72 240.. i was also thinking about a 91shape 240sx hatch and put a rb25det in it and tune it but it will suck for daily driving and if some thing goes bad im gona have to wait for weeks to get parts for the rb motor.. i still want a DSM but the whole realibality issue is a big deal. i am in college and i dont have money to put into my car every week when something will go bad..
thanks again

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: need to vent!

yea i know but i dont want such an old car for my next car the 1st gen dsm are around the same yr as my current car and from what i see with this car the older the car the more it tends to fall apart on you..

Re: need to vent!

man for 8gs you could get a VR4 and it will compete against those cars with very few mods.

I don't know about falling apart on you...mine's 22 years old and nothing's just 'fallen off' other then a piece of bodyside moulding. Who cares about cosmetics when you just want to put their motors where their mouths are?

I like the V8 suggestion, tonnes of potential with those things, and parts are generally cheaper for older V8 tuning from what i understand.

I think your best bet might just be a Mk2 Supra with a 7mgte swap which can be done for cheap if you know your way around cars...or just get a Mk3 Turbo also can be had for under 3k for the most part. And all you really have to do it just before you even dare start modding it get the block lapped and the head machined and get a metal head gasket then throw another 3k into the motor and you got probably in the area of 3-400rwhp. FUN FUN FUN!

I second the GN/T-type. You can find a t-type for about 5 grand and put 1k in it and be in the 11's, on pump gas! The GN's and GNX's where not the only buicks to get the turbo engine. They are just the most sought after. Because of the limited production. My insurance costs me 53 dollars a month ( 21 with no tickets) full coverage with a 250 dectable. Also the Turbo blocks are the same as the NA block as long as it has the LC2109 casting number on them. There are pleanty of spare blocks around. They are not as expensive as people think. I am also in college paying for all my own crap and I can afford it with no problem. People who do not own something do not know the finial costs. Any questioins let me know.

Andy

You want helpless? Try talking about if I go through with buying a Triumph Spitfire. If I hyper-tune the bloody thing with radical compression, custom cams, flat crank, dry sump oiling, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, I'll be lucky to make a whopping 170hp at the flywheel.
