ecm or prom ?

Long story cut short but I have lost fuel delivery through the injectors
(throttle body) and I have 0 spark at the plugs. I have replaced the ecm and now I am thinking the prom is bad.
Am I looking in the right direction? Also where is the best place to buy it?

All this started when the truck would cutout and run badly before it died totaly, it would start up again after a short time. But now it will not run at all.

ignition module maybe? When mine went out, no spark and no gas from the injectors.

My bad, I replaced the pick-up coil with the ig. mod. The pick-up coil might be bad.
To check it on my '92 fullsize, I thinking it should be the same on your truck:
1) Connect an ohmmeter to the pick-up coil lead, the wires that go from the coil to the ig. mod., and ground out the other meter probe. The meter should read infinite at all times. Be sure to flex the wires while your taking the reading to see if they change at any position. If it doesn't stay on any infinite reading the whole time, it's bad.

2) Next, put the meter probes in both of the connectors on the plug of the coil wires. There should 500 to 1500 ohms between these two wires. Again, flex the wires to see if the reading soesn't change drastically.
Hope I helped.

Re: ecm or prom ?

I checked the pickup coil and coil both check out as ok. I am going to replace the ignition modual I don't have any way to check it at least my book does not show a way to do this. I am confused as to why the ig mod. would effect fuel delivery through the injectors. But still hoping that this is the fix I would only have the prom chip left from what I can tell.

Re: ecm or prom ?

Thanks for the tips I got the ignition modual replaced and it is all well once again! New ig mod ran me 80.00 but I am ok with what I replaced I should not have any problems with any of the pcm parts for quite some time.
