99 Suburban daytime running lights

My 99 Suburban's Daytime running lights have just stopped working. Headlights work when switched on. Any suggestions?

Matt

separate fuse?

My wife's '96 has a separate fuse under hood, labeled "DRL". Maybe it blew. I removed mine, didn't like the DRL's...

If you accidently stepped on the emergency brake ever so slightly the running lights go out. Bob

Just for grins, check your daytime running lights fuse on your dash side fuse box.

Tried sll of those. The book only gives one or 2 fuses that it could be. They are both good. It does not list any fuse or relay for under the hood, although I looked there. Tried the brake thing, bout to no avail. The little light in the dash console still thinks they are working. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: 99 Suburban daytime running lights

Did you find the problem yet? Just happened to encounter the same exact experiance. The last thing I done was to apply the parking brake. Thought it might be that switch, however like yours, the dash light goes off (like the driving lights) when I apply the brake and comes on when they're released. Time to get the meter out.

Re: 99 Suburban daytime running lights

I would say try to find your drl diode they blow well the solder lets go. On the 1995 to 1998 or 1999 the diode is to the right of the steering column look like a heatsink about 2" high 1 1/2" wide and has fins on it. It sit on the steel tube about knee height on the trucks. They also are in the engine compartment. And some are round diodes.hope this helps

Still have not found the solution yet, though I really have not been trying. I tried the parking brake to no avail. The fuses all look okay and I even replaced them just to make sure. I like the drl's. I will probably have someone look at the problem. If I do, I will let you know. Thanks for the input.
