Re: insurance legalities?

If the adjuster notices the non-stock engine, yes, that's a possibility.

Well maybe at 17, you shouldn't be driving around in a 200+ horsepoqer car when, clearly, you have no idea how the system works or how to drive since you have, judging by your age, very little driving experience.

they don't know what kinda engine it is. it passes e-check with a cat and dumping rich with an s-afc +25% all across the board.

There is a reason why you will be charged twice as much for insurance as most of us. Convince the insurance company not to judge your mad skillz based on your age rather than any one here.

In answer to your first question: Rarely will the insurance adjuster check the car and notice the engine swap. It is a risk though and very well could compromise the insurance claim. Hang on to a KA and swap it back into your smashed up frame if you get into an accident. Or if you get smashed really bad and you're gonna total out, take the engine out of the car completly and if they ask say you're parting the car out and want to take their settlement.

Remember, he's in smog-nazi California. A S-chassis with anything other than a KA will fail the visual inspection before they even turn on the sniffer. Most everyone who's getting paid to look at your motor in CA will know the difference. That's why he mentioned "greasing" the smog tech in the first post.

Yeah, there's a chance you could get into an accident, file a claim, and pray for a numb-nuts adjuster that wouldn't know the difference, but that's not something I'd want to risk an entire insurance settlement over.

It can also depend on the insurance company you use. Some companies' adjusters will nitpick anything and everything to see if they can void a claim.

Damn i dont know every CARB law... gasp i should just turn in my keys now because that must mean i dont know how to drive please. i know 40yr olds that cant drive well to save their life and have seen a 17yr old throw down on half the feild at a drifting competetion. so basing driving skills by age is just stupid. at least this kid realizes that shit happens (may be his fault but may not be) and doesnt want to get fucked over because of his engine.

No, it's QUITE justified. I'll take your keys though if you don't want them.

Re: insurance legalities?

that;s why its always nice to have contacts or people that know people to hook u up! Majority of my family from my dads side are either mechanics or huave their shops. My cuz passed his smog illegally by his frined for $120. The guy had exsperience so i guess he knew what he was doin. However, i dont like to mess with that right now, be cool dont do drugs, and stay NA. lol

BTW its true that it is unfiar that u judge driving by age, but its true that the stats show that we crash more often so even though YOU may not be a bad driver, other dumb kids make us look bad. I know how u feel man. I sure as heck know how to drive better than my folks, but they still think they know more and dont completely trust me. So just be humble dude, hold the anger and agree with ur foloks for a while and later on they'll trust u with almost anything, thats what i did, but dont tell em how u REALLY drive.

Re: insurance legalities?

So by that logic an 80 year old will outdrive a 30 year old? My mom is 40 and will hit the brakes liek mad to the point where I'm pretty much thrown forward and back in my seat. I'm fairly young but I don't drive stupid fast and it feels fairly smooth when I drive, I obey traffic laws... stuff liek that, and I'm fairly positive that I can outdrive many older people. It depends on the person. If a person learns how to drive poorly usually they'll be a shit driver. Don't make general statements, saying a young person can't drive is liek saying all people of a certain race can't drive.
