sentra spec v

cheaper
torque
why the hell would you spen 24'g on a car like the rsx type s for about that amount of money you could get a Subaru WRX.(im just bitter about honda's since i own one)celica looks like a girls car. i test drove one and wasn't really impressed. The rsx is a nice ride but.. the lack of torque just kills it. And its a bit small. Spec V isn't the pretty car out there but its fucking fun to drive. YOu can actully feel the car.

That is totally right. Just few specs now:
Celica Gt-s: 138hp, $24000
Rsx 200hp not enough torque, no arm rest, price $26000
SpecV: 175hp 180lb/ft torque 17" rims stock price $18.500
I own a black 04 specV and i really like that car is really fun and responsive. Go with specV $$ you save you can use on mods and fun stuff!!!

The Spec is also going to save you money on insurance.

I was looking at the same 3 cars when I bought by Spec back on 02'.
The RSX-S and Celica were a bunch more simply because they were 2-doors.

Technically the RSX makes more horsepower, but at 9000 rpm. Who drives around town at 9000 rpm.
The spec makes more power and more torque through the entire powerband. It is just the RSX will rev for another 2500, and that is where it makes more power.

Drove all three, and an Eclipse, Lancer (evo wasn't out) even a used Camaro SS (340 hp, and the same price range since used)

Bought the Spec, and have never looked back.
Wonderful car. Haven't had any problems. If you don't count the slow aftermarket parts, but that is changing.

Buy the Spec.

Re: sentra spec v vs rsx-s vs celica gt-s?

the spec v is the better car all around... the celica is the slowest of the group, and the sentra and rsx are close to where its a drivers race... to me honda has a little too much pride pricing the resx that high.. its deffinatly not worth 24k.. i bought my 04 spec v with brembos for 17k... nissan has rebates honda doesn't.. even further more in the 24k price range theres so many better cars you can get for your money.. SRT-4 is one i can think of that will just piss all over the rsx.. its a second faster in the 1/4 mile and has all the same options and more.. plus to me its a really plain ass car and too many ppl have them in blue lol

i own a 03 spec. i love it. i paid $17k. the best bang for your buck. handles like a dream and you can aftermarket for cheap. i have a few and spent well under $3k. im running 245hp out of mine. no turbo or s/c. mine will spank a mustang gt and camaro z-28 and ss any day of the week. any lil wannabe import tuner wants to play, its just down right embarassing for them. so i say buy a spec-v, the best car for the money in my eyes.

Re: sentra spec v vs rsx-s vs celica gt-s?

im gonna buy a sentra and have test drove all 3 of the above, from a stand still the sentra will get a jump and will win stop light to stop light, from a roll forget it, the rsx has u. The rsx felt a little more refined, then either the toyota or the nissan, but i like the raw feeling that the nissan leaves u with.

I really like 4 doors, its just alot more convenient, and i think it looks really good. Kind of sleeperish The sentras buckets where really comfy. I snow board so i can even throw my board in the back through the trunk and the fold down 1/4 rear seat, which is really nice.

So really with the nissan u have real world power, gobs of torquey response, the rsx just doesnt get it done until u get it wound up. The celica just generally felt slower then both, i dunno, i wasnt really impressed with anything about it.

Buy the nissan, and spend the extra money that u would of spent on the rsx for a balance shaft removal kit, intake and header, clutch, flywheel, short throw shifter and some stickier tires/light rims, exhaust and an afc. should be around the rsx price after all of this, maybe a little bit over, but you will absolutly smoke any stock rsx in your sites, from a stop or from a roll.

Re: sentra spec v vs rsx-s vs celica gt-s?

yea right the rsx type s runs the same times a specv does stock for stock... i think the rsx drives like crap and feels slugish... some hondas are fast but all are a pain in the ass to drive in the city. they need more torque.. they are so annoying.. that was one of the biggest reasons i bought my spec v.. its so easy to drive and its quick..

I am an Integra GSR owner who loves Honda and Acuras, But, I gotta admit, I love the Spec-v. My friend has 1 wit all the bolt on goodies and cams and what not, and holy sh!t ! What a fun car to drive. I would definately take 1 over the Celica and Rsx, though not quite as quick as the RSX stock vs. stock. Mod for mod, the Spec-v has got the edge.

Yeah, I've heard that the Spec V gets more from mods than a Honda/Acura does. You can get a Spec V and just add and CAI and it will be just as fast as the RSX-S. And you'll save $5,000.

Re: sentra spec v vs rsx-s vs celica gt-s?

mod for mod they aren't even close, put a cai and hondata on an rsx-s and there's no way you could keep up with it in a spec without nitrous or FI.

just because it says 9k on the tack doesnt mean it will hit 9k, the most it will go to (rsx&celica) 8k rpms.

The rev limitter in the RSX S-type is in fact set at 9200 rpm.
Now I don't know about the Celica's rev limitter.

But my point was that the Spec makes a whole lot more torque at lower rpm, which in effect makes the car a lot more driveable.

Don't get me wrong. I drove the RSX S-type. I even drove a new one just a little while ago when I was thinking about a new car. Both are great cars, I just think the Spec is a lot more driveable, plus a lot cheaper. Both in purchase cost and insurance costs. My insurance company likes the fact that the Spec is a 4-door.
