In-progress: 71 Duster----moving on to the chassis.

This is my first time taking any real time on the motor.

Tell me what you think so far.

Re: In-progress: 71 Duster----engine detail.

lookin real good. If i were you, i would have painted the tranny a differnt color than the block. Like aluminum or something. Then make bolt heads black. Also, the valve covers, if youre going for the stock look, orange is perfectly fine. but if not, id also paint them a differnt color, i like flat black. Other than that youre doing a great job, keep it up

Re: In-progress: 71 Duster----engine detail.

I painted the valve covers flat red in an attempt to break things up a little.

As for the wiring and plumbing.....I just might.

Final assembly is complete. I'm still not sure if I'm going to wire it, as I have no experiance doing so. Also I don't like the way the air cleaner decel went on, looks ugly in my opinion.

Mike.

Re: In-progress: 71 Duster----engine detail.

The wrinkling of the decal makes it look more realistic IMO.
If you open the hoods on old cars the air cleaner stickers are lifting on the edges, or gone completely.

here is some more progress.

Engine installed in the sub-frame

Engine mocked up in the body with the wheels and tires. I flipped the spindles up front to give her some good muscle car rake.

Have to massage the front fenders to get the wheels to sit right, too much negetive camber.

Box stock tires (front) vs. parts bin tires (rear).

Starting to detail the chassis.
