Re: Automatic Tiptronic Tranny

no clue about the trans.

obdI and obdII are (on board diagnostics) is a way a engine management system is set up on your vehicle. the main difference is the number of 02 sensors. obdI has no 02 sensors after the catalytic convert. obdII does-- it's got more 02 sensors everywhere else. in 1996 they switched to obdII. in short it allows EPA emission standards to be the difference between taking a sniffer and putting it up next to the tail pipe and reading the number of carbons comming out and plugging your car into a computer and taking all information off the cars ECU. obII is plug n play takes about 5 minutes to pass emmisions. obI is about 15 minutes where they take the vehicle through varies rpms and measure the carbons externally.

if you car is obII (96-present) it's ILLEGAL to change. you can only go obI to obII (WHY TO GOD WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT!?!?) but not OBII to OBDI.

Re: Automatic Tiptronic Tranny

Thank You. But What's So Wrong From Going To OBDI To OBDII? If It's just Plug And Play Then That's More Time You Could Be Burnin' Rubber, Rather Than Sittin' n that Damn Mechanics Bay waching him or her Fluck With yo Shiznit...

Re: Automatic Tiptronic Tranny

actually i'm doing 99 H22a4 swap on my 94 accord going from OBD1 -OBDII it requires a few extra wires and the OBDII connector instaled but theres a few things that has to be done first this in no plus and play job all plugs have to be hardwired to the ECU and Trans ECU also the trans side mount is diffrent and had to be made or modified and a OBDII cat. and last but not lest the immobilizer on the late model equipped H22a had to be bypasssed or installed or car won't start since alot of wireing has to be done it's too difficult or too time consuming for most shops
