Re: rsx-s vs celica gt-s vs sentra spec v?

to be completely honest i don't know much about the sentra so i can only compare the rsx-s and gt-s, but between the 2 i'd have to go with the rsx.

i base my decision primarily on performance but also on the cheapo interior of the celica. i hate it!

Re: rsx-s vs celica gt-s vs sentra spec v?

1st) RSX
2nd) Celica
57th) Sentra Spec-Crap

The RSX is the best of them because it responds to mods the best, arguably looks the best, good handling, just as fast as the celica.

Celica is second because it is just as fast as the RSX, and has better handling but doesn't respond as well to mods, looks ugly when stock.

Sentra is 57th place because it sucks. Brakes really suck. Needs more power (although it has torque). It's a Sentra. Looks like a Sentra. Lackluster handling.

I'd also consider the MazdaSpeed or if you only want straightline speed, an SRT-4.

i dont own any and i thank you for your oppinion but i can bet almost anything because ill buy them used and that makes the rsx around 18 or 19 grand and the sentra 11 or 12 that with that extra 7 thousand i can make that sentra looks better and be able to smoke both the rsx and celica off the line 4 grand for stage 2 turbo and then about 3 grand for headers, catback exhaust, cai, pulley kit, hyper ground, lightweightflywheel, clutch kit, and apex safc ii which brings a grand total of 7 grand for mods and that would definatly make it haul ass and with some rims and a certain color on that car it would look pretty nice so about a grand or two if you throw in some other body stuff and for 2 more thousand you got a pretty dam nice sentra with even more potential left on it not much but still some.So i dont know why you say 57th when for the value difference it might actually be better.

Bah...I'd still rather have a "slower" RSX...start with a superior platform and the end result, logically, will be better. Sure you'd have your 7 grand in mods right away, but when the RSX owner starts modding, your haul-ass Sentra is finished...

Re: rsx-s vs celica gt-s vs sentra spec v?

I'm saying the Sentra isn't good because:

a) I've driven it
b) Just like the SRT, its an econobox and you're still driving a bottom of the line Nissan Sentra, it just uses the Altima 4 Cyl. QR engine
c) Its brakes are horrible
d) Reliability is low
e) The aftermarket for the Nissans are mainly for KA and SR20 engines, not the QR25
f) Its got a balky knock sensor (detects knocks even when there isn't any). It's been said its the hardest car to dyno because if changes a lot, robbing you of power.
g) Its got about a 15.9 1/4 mile so you have your work put out for you
h) Headers + Turbo = Incompatible
i) CAI + Turbo = Incompatible (except in the case of cars that have already been turbo'd, like the WRX, in which there is aftermarket intakes available)
j) A pulley kit isn't really the best for a daily driver
k) You can drop 5000 into a 1983 Dodge Caravan and it'll run 12's (a guy did that and it eats Cobras)
l) The fact that i've managed to get to the letter L

I mean sure, it'll be fast, but if you ONLY want a fast car why not just get a muscle car like a mustang. Huge gains in power for little cash.

If speed is your only concern, there are many used cars that'll provide that power (5.0L mustang, Camaro, etc.). However if you want an all around package I think there is better.

Someone can correct me if one of my points is wrong.

i was just pointing that out i mean i love the rsx im just not sure if its worth all that extra money and i dont want a wicked fast cause i just want something impresive but when i have extra cash to spend i just put a mod in it for some fun and crap but the rsx id have to pay monthly on cause i have 11 grand in the bank and i have a excellent condition 99 toyota corolla right now auto with 38k miles which ill sell also which will not add up to enough kinda close but not really cause that corolla i got free inheret and i just dont want to blow 6 or 7 grand if its not so much a big deal to spend on cause i already know for a fact that the rsx is a better car

wut about labor??? you know, u actually have to install them inside the engine for them to make a difference on your car and its gonna be a couple thousand to have them put in unless u can do all of it yourself which i doubt you can do

also, i dont care wut body kit you put on it... its still a sentra

plus if u wanna talk like that then you could get another car like a mr2 turbo, or 300zx for cheeper than a sentra and spend the rest of the money on mods and imo they look better than sentras

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: rsx-s vs celica gt-s vs sentra spec v?

Well, if you want an impressive car, there are more options out there. MR2, 180SX, 240SX, 300ZX, Mustang, Camaro. They're (most of them at least, and they can all be made to be) all impressive when modded. And you'll save cash because they're easier to mod.

But it seems like your set on the Sentra, so that's would I think you should get.

It is kinda funny that i have come apon a question like this; RSX, celica gt-s or a sentra spec v?

about 3 weeks ago i got to drive a friends 2002 celica gt-s, she does not even like to drive it. I was not impressed at all, it was not what i expected. I thought it was pretty slow to be talked up soo much. Then about a week ago i purchased a new 2004 RSX type S. I have fallen in love with it. I figure I need to put a few miles on it before i start sticking on mods. I also have a friend with one of those family cars called a sentra spec v. The first time i got on the RSX was at a red light next to that family sedan. needless to say he was riding with me the rest of the night. the celica looks good no matter what anyone says, the sentra spec v is far from where it started(the regular sentra), but the RSX type S is by far the best of all three.

How'd you bring up the SRT-4 into this posting? He's not even asking about it?

But since you mentioned it, I have to say, yes, it is a NEON, but a FAST NEON! For less than the RSX you can have a very fast car that can be upgraded to stage 1 for about $200. And I've been told that stage 3 produces 300 whp. So for cheap speed, I would have to go with the NEON 100%. I'm sure it will own the EVO with the upgrades as well. So you could spend about $10k more for an EVO, but why would you when an SRT-4 will do just as well?

The only thing I can say about the RSX is that the handling is better. I just wish that they had a turbo version of the RSX! So it just depends on what you're looking for:

SRT-4 - cheap, fast car
RSX - more luxurious, better handling, slow car
EVO - more expensive, good handling, fast car

I am gonna stick to the 3 he gave and it seems pretty obvious to me 1) rsx 2)Celica gt-s 3) Sentra Spec v

I love my rsx it looks good, has amazing speed (for the guy that a 330 is way out of my price range). I do not like the Celica I think the engine is overrated and its a girls car. Lastly the stupid Spec V you have to spend 3000 (Cdn) to get anti-lock brakes, that is the stupidest thing I had ever heard
