I recently came across two cars for free, if I want them. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the two cars are compatible for an engine swap.
The 1989 camry 4DR(totalled body) has a good 2.0 16 valve EFI engine that looks exactly like the blown engine in the 1986-87 toyota wagon with a good/staight body. Both Automatics. The Good engine family# is KTY2.0V5FFFX, the old bad engine # in wagon HTY2.0V5FBB4. One tip I got said these numbers have to match exactly for an easy swap, is it still possible, are am I looking for fuel management & electronics headaches and torture? I have never done a project like this before, but I have a friend with the tools and the garage. This would make a good work car that is way better on gas than the big gas hog Jeep I drive now. Please help! Swappy |
