Re: best v6 for under 10,000 car

Sorry didn't see the 2 door comment. There isn't many 2 door V6's that come to mind, Cougar is a good choice, Lot's of mod's for the 2.5 and the 2.5 is a very strong motor to begin with. Mustang and Camaro V6's just aren't my cup of tea.

Maybe a older Cavalier Z24 with the V6?

Re: best v6 for under 10,000 car

V6 Camaro's and Mustangs are a seriously unfunny joke.......For under $10,000 I'd say a 300ZX would be nice, in it's own way....

Something as a daily driver to get to point A to B, Yes. As a car you want to spend money on to modify, no. I agree with youngVR-4, those two car's are about the fastest you are going to get from a V6.. But say hello to higher insurance rate's too.

To hell with you ignorant asses putting down V6 Camaro's and Mustang's. The 5 speeds run low 15's they are good cars. Stop bashing them.

Re: Re: best v6 for under 10,000 car

mmmmmhmmm.......Um...BS- I know the newer V6 Mustang runs about mid-15's, but the Camaro V6 (especially the 3.4) and older Mustang V6's are rubbish. Especially when putting them side-by-side with SRT4's, Civic Si's and even thier own V8 counterparts...

The handling's trashy, as is the build quality, the brakes are crap and both cars feel weezy and are heavy lumbering beasts at the same time. Get a V8 F-Body/Mustang, not a pretend V8. Not to mention the ancient Buick V6 block in the Camaro is probably the worst V6 engine I've ever had the misfortune of using (In numerous Commodores).

I stick by the 300ZX.

Re: Re: best v6 for under 10,000 car

Wow, they put a snail on it!!! I'm talking about the block in it's NA form- Bolting on a Turbo normally makes most engines a hell of a lot more bareable, even the Supercharged versions are pretty slouchy, especially when you look at the V6 in cars like the latest Honda Accord, or Nissans VQ series of engines.
