Question need help jdm swap

ok so i have a 98 civic and i want to swap a jdm b18c-rg2 i can get the tranny axles shift linkage ecu and all the parts to run, but i was wondering since the steering column is on the right side if the gears would be different instead of

1 3 5
2 4 R

would it be
5 3 1
R 4 2

and would the shifter fit in an american model civic?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

one more thing, would it be easier to go with an usdm b18c-r

Re: need help jdm swap

it will be the same as the American way
1 3 5
2 4 R
It should be the same difficulty of swapping in a UDM as a JDM engine.

Re: need help jdm swap

yes it is the same, even on rhd cars first is still top left and fifth is top right... it'd be weird driving a rhd car and still shifting the same way... it'd take a while to get used to i'm sure
