restoring faded gold emblems
I have a '95 camry with gold emblems. They have gotten dull, worn and are even chipping in places. Is there a way to get the gold finish off and get down to the original chrome look? I don't want to spend the money to get a new emblem package. On the places where the gold finish is chipped it looks like it was chrome colored before it was gold so if these can be buffed or stripped down to that shinny finish, that would be fine. They don't have to be gold.

You can try sanding them then painting them a shiny chrome. Its only plastic. I would take them off before trying anything aggressive. Hope this helps.
